More Images of Yellowstone

Every corner had its thermals and the colors are interesting - they come from bacteria that thrive on the chemicals and the color comes form the particular species: they have a specific temperature zone they can survive in - the ligtest blue is so near boiling that nothing can live there so it is clear.

You'ld think that with a volcano just under your feet it would be warm but we have yet to have a night that didn't dip into the low 40s! Tht may me why this coyote is still sporting his winter coat while the Mountain Sheep have almost lost theirs.
