Rupert Sojourn -1

We arrived at our Sojourn after an easy 3 hour drive on the Interstate Hwy from Salt Lake City and were welcomed by this sign and the four other couples already there. We felt blessed to be with such experienced Sojourners - the most "junior" had over 12 years' of Sojourning and scores of Sojourns under their belt. Richard and Jo Byrd (second couple from the left) were the team leaders. Texas was well represented: Foy and Helen Johnson (far left) and Wendell and Sydney Kent (center) made six of us! Jimmy and Barbara Hudgins were the lone Tennessee-ans. Did I mention that the Byrds' nested in Mountain Home, Arkansas?
Setting up the Fair Schedule with the Ladies. Our booth, below and David Ryzack, the member who has spearheaded this outreach effort for almost 10 years. He had found that the way to stop the parents was to stop the kids - with a 'spin the wheel' game asking easy Bible questions and giving out small prizes. Then we would talk to the parents about a drawing for a study Bible and get contact information.
