SLC - Mormonism, part 1

The Mormon's belief is founded on the vision of a 14 year old boy back in New York - Joseph Smith. He and a friend were 'visited' by a re-incarnated John the Baptist and given authority to act as John did - baptize for the remission of sins.

They were later led to hidden cache of gold plates (replica, below - originals lost) that were written in 4th century Egyptian and they were inspired to translate. These books and stories of Jesus coming to the Indians of the Americas, and other stories, form the Book of Mormon. It took a lot of faith.
